DIY Flower Hair Clips

This DIY tutorial was created as a guest post for the blog onlinevoice. With just a few simple items, you can make your very own quirky flower hairclip that is guaranteed to turn more heads than anything you will buy at a store. Once you’re done, you can show them off to everyone.

DIY Flower Hair Clips

Things Needed:

1 hair clip

4 petals cut out of felt

Thread (matching with the petal colour)

Needle

Pearls

Method:

- - Cut 4 petals out of any desired colour felt material.

(The shape of the petal is similar to the top half of a heart).

- Use a needle to pull thread on to the petals as seen below.

- Pull lightly on the thread and gather all the petals together to create a flower pattern and then tie off

the knot.

- Then sew the flower on top of the hair clip.

- Sew some pearls on to the felt flower and your beautiful flower hair clip is ready for use!

Wall Art Frames

This was custom made order for a cute little boy to decorate his very own room! The theme was transportation. I personally designed the art work, and was so excited to see the colors when they came from the printers.

When I was discussing the designs with the mommy, she liked my punch embroidery artwork. So I thought I could incorporate some 3D work in the frames. She gave me full freedom to work with the designs. And hence the addition of felt embellishments.

I also added some hand-painted wooden aeroplanes to complete the 3D effect. Painting these where so much fun! Look at all the bright colors! Hand-painting gives me such a sense of satisfaction, which is never the same no matter how much I work with artworks and colors on my PC!

My client loved these when she saw them. And they have been packed and sent off to decorate her adorable boy's room walls!
